Privacy Policy 🤎
How we look after your details when you visit the site or sign up to hear from us.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
Auntie Ona ("we", "us", "our") creates phonics and early-numeracy content for children aged 3–7 and sells educational resources to the parents and carers who support them. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at hello@auntieona.com.
Who this website is for
This website and our shop are intended for adults — parents, carers and educators. Although our videos and resources are made for young children, the site itself is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has given us their personal information, please contact us at hello@auntieona.com and we will delete it.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the Auntie Ona brand:
- When you join our email list: your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. You provide this yourself through our sign-up form.
- When you download a free resource: the same sign-up details, so we can send you the freebie and keep you updated.
- When you buy a resource: your order is handled by our shop provider (Payhip). They collect the details needed to process your payment and deliver your file. We receive a record of the sale but we never see or store your full card details.
- Automatically, when you visit: basic technical and usage information (for example, pages visited and general location by country) through cookies and analytics. See "Cookies and analytics" below.
How we use your information
- To send you our newsletter — new video alerts, activity ideas and freebies — when you have signed up for it.
- To deliver any free resource you have requested.
- To process and deliver resources you buy.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To reply to you when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Our legal basis
- For marketing emails, we rely on your consent — which you give by signing up, and can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
- For processing an order, we rely on performing our contract with you.
- For basic analytics, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site.
The services we use (our processors)
We use trusted third-party services to run the brand. Each has its own privacy policy:
- MailerLite — email list and newsletter delivery.
- Payhip — shop, checkout and payment processing.
- Google / YouTube — video hosting and analytics.
- Amazon Associates — affiliate links (see disclosure below).
- Our website hosting provider.
Affiliate links
Some pages and emails may contain Amazon affiliate links. If you buy something through one of these links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links appear only in content aimed at parents and carers, never within children's material. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to make the site work and to measure how it is used (for example, which pages and videos are popular). You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
How long we keep your information
- If you are on our email list, we keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Order records are kept as long as needed for our records and any legal or tax obligations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time — every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us.
- Object to certain uses of your information.
To exercise any of these, email hello@auntieona.com and we will respond.
International data
Auntie Ona is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and our audience is worldwide. The services we use may store and process information in other countries. By using the site and signing up, you understand your information may be handled outside your home country, under the protections those services provide.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
